Midwest Self Catering Cottage
at Torridon - Wester Ross
in the Scottish Highlands

The cottage is generously equipped to a high standard with good quality matching crockery and glassware, stainless steel saucepans and utensils and ample towels, bed linen and duvets with additional blankets for winter use.

There is a TV/VCR/DVD Combi (reception is via a SKY dish), telephone, C.D. and cassette player and an interesting collection of Scottish reference and guide books and maps; together with a selection of fiction for children and adults. There are board games and jigsaw puzzles too.

The cottage is suitable for year round use as it is well insulated, centrally heated and fully carpeted.

The galley kitchen is well equipped with electric hob and fan oven, microwave, sink, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There are ample worktops and storage.

The dining table seats six and there is a large oak larder cupboard.

The comfortable sitting area has a three piece suite, occasional tables, bookcases, an electric stove with wood burning effect, T.V. and CD player.
On the ground floor there is a spacious open plan living/dining/kitchen area with two sets of patio windows to take in the exceptional views.

The double bedroom has built in wardrobes and en suite bathroom comprising bath with electric shower over, basin, w.c., an electric towel rail and shaver point.

The single bedroom has a large inbuilt wardrobe, and resembles the interior of a beach hut.

The bathroom comprises bath, shower cubicle, basin, w.c., an electric towel rail and shaver point.

The spiral staircase leads to a large open plan bed/sitting room with two single beds, a wardrobe, dressing table, easy chairs, bookcases and coffee table.

Wooden decking leads to a stone slabbed terrace where steps lead down to an area of grass. There is a second small sheltered terrace outside the main bedroom window. In the adjacent barn there is a sink unit, washing machine, tumble dryer, rotary clothes line for use in the garden, an ironing board and iron. In addition there is an outdoor table and chairs, folding deckchairs and a gas barbecue.

A Midgeater Plus, fuelled by calor gas, has been sited in the garden. It should greatly reduce the number of annoying midges, thus making eating al fresco, or just sitting outside, more enjoyable during the summer months.
